This project was commissioned by the City of Boroondara, a large municipality in Melbourne.  It involved a comprehensive review of its existing sport and recreation provision.  Based on extensive community engagement, a long term planning framework is being developed.

NSROC Synthetic Sportsfields Regional Provision

The Northern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (NSROC) engaged SGL to consolidate and update information on the development of synthetic sports fields in the region, either on new sites or through redevelopment of existing turf fields.

The plan outlined a strategic and efficient approach to the regional provision of synthetic sports fields which maximises community benefits.

University of South Australia Great Hall Project

The purpose of the project was to construct a Sports, Cultural and Recreational Complex that could be reconfigurable to encompass a multi-purpose Great Hall for Exams, Graduations and Events. The multi-purpose hall was to be located partially underground, rising to form a Plaza and amphitheatre integrated with the adjacent Høj Plaza and Jeffrey Smart Building.

The facilities also had to contain a gym/fitness centre, pool, plenary spaces, back of house and storage and Audio Visual technologies were to be embedded in all indoor and outdoor facilities and provide for a multitude of functions.

Young Shire Sporting Needs Study and Strategic Plan

Young is a regional town in NSW, which wished to review its sports facilities.  Based on a detailed analysis of its existing infrastructure, a long term plan for future facilities was developed.  It primarily focused on playing fields, but also incorporated other types of facilities, such as the aquatic centre.

CLC Ranger Program Development Strategy

Undertaken in association with Creating Communities, the study reviewed the Ranger Program managed by the Central Land Council and operating in multiple indigenous communities.

The project involved discussions with traditional owners in each indigenous community.  The project reviewed the effectiveness of the program based on the cost to fund the program and the outcomes delivered by Rangers.
